I keep hearing this, but what is it based on? Bloomberg's tracker (link)

puts Virginia in the middle of the pack.

That's not exactly anything to be proud of, but with a little more than 50% of its vaccine supply having been used (50.7%) and only 0.9% of the population having received both doses, that seems entirely reasonable to me. It's only been 3 weeks since phase 1b (a MUCH larger group) began in Virginia (1/8), so you'd expect the 2nd dose percentage to start steadily increasing soon.

I question the wisdom of letting the administration of a 2-dose vaccine outpace your rate of resupply, at least until your remaining supply represents a substantial fraction, say 50% of your remaining 1st & 2nd dose recipients.

The supplying of vaccine to Virginia seems to have peaked during the 2nd week of January and has now plateaued at about the same number of doses per week as vaccinations.
